Marcia Helene Green, age 80, died peacefully in her home, April 28, 2026. She went home to the Lord after a life well lived.

Born June 30, 1945, in Burlington, Iowa; she was the second of nine children born to Edward and De Etta Senn. In her youth she enjoyed playing outside with the neighborhood kids including baseball, riding bikes, roller skating, jacks and marbles. 

She graduated from Notre Dame High School and attended Burlington Junior College where she connected with the love of her life. On August 31, 1968 at age 23 she married Lonnie Green in Burlington, IA. His career took them from Iowa to Virginia, Alabama, Kentucky, Brazil, and finally settling in Texas. They welcomed a son, David (1975) and daughter, Gina (1978) during this season of life. 

After giving her life to Christ later in life and an early career retirement for Lonnie, they sold the house, bought an RV and spent the next 20 years serving in various ministries around the country and around the world. Full time RV living came to an end with the building of a small home in a RV retirement community in Lindale, TX allowing more time with her children, grandchildren and serving in their community. During this time they became members of Mt. Sylvan Baptist Church. She stayed active with daily walks as well as various outdoor activities and also loved camping with family.

Anyone who knows Marcia, knows that she had a servant heart and loved people! Any given day, she would be baking cookies and banana bread for neighbors, taking meals to the sick, helping those in need, or visiting with someone who needed a friend. She lived out Jesus’s words in Matthew 22 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart . . . and love your neighbor as yourself.”

She was whole-heartedly devoted to her family and faithfully loved her husband, Lonnie, for 57 years through sickness and health. She was the most caring and loving mother to her 2 children and she would do anything for her 8 grandkids that she adored. 

She lived a selfless life of loving others and trusting in the Lord. Her favorite Bible verse was Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Marcia is survived by son David Green and his wife Sheri of Austin, TX. Daughter Gina Dickerson and her husband Tom of Malawi, Africa. Grandchildren: Sarah, Zef, Jeremy, Titus, Zachary, Naomi, Justin and Andrea. One great-granddaughter due this May. Sisters: Kathie Erickson, Mary Lee Matteson, Ruth Ann Martin. Brothers: Richard Senn, Thomas Senn, Alan Senn. 

Visitation and Memorial service will be held at Mt. Sylvan Baptist Church 13073 Hwy 110 North, Tyler, Texas on Thursday, May 14, 2026 starting at 10:00am. 

Graveside service will be held at Aspen Grove Cemetery 2043 Sunnyside Ave Burlington, Iowa on Friday June 12, 2026 10:00am

In Loving Memory of Abel Garces

December 8, 1964 – May 25, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Abel Garces on May 25, 2026, at the age of 61. Abel was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and a truly kindhearted soul who touched the lives of everyone he met.

Born and raised in Edinburg, Abel carried his roots proudly throughout his life. He was the kind of man who never met a stranger. He welcomed everyone with open arms, a warm smile, and a generous heart. Known for always being willing to help others, he would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He loved deeply, laughed often, and cherished time spent with his family and friends. Whether gathered around a barbecue, sharing stories, or lending a helping hand, Abel created lasting memories and meaningful connections wherever he went.

He is survived by his loving wife, Criselda Garces; his children, Abel Garces Jr., Arron Garces, Amanda Garces, and Francisco Garces (Rubi Avila); and his stepchildren, Felisha Garces (Walter Hicks Jr.), Ashley Garces, and Desirae Garces. Abel was also a proud grandfather to 10 beloved grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life.

He is also survived by his siblings, Norma Cavazos (Hector Jimenez), Janie Vega (Cruz Vega), Epifanio Garces (Patricia Garces), Marcelo Garces Jr., and Alberto Garces, along with multiple nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcelo Garces Sr. and Esperanza Garces.

Abel’s love, strength, wisdom, and generosity will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his legacy will continue through the family and friends whose lives he impacted so deeply.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF TOMÁS PULIDO ROJAS

Tomás Pulido Rojas, age 74, of Tyler, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Tomás was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose life was defined by his love for family, animals, and the simple joys that brought people together. He found great happiness at the racetrack watching his horses compete and took immense pride in caring for his animals. Above all, he cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, celebrating their accomplishments and watching them grow.

He is survived by his Wife, Maria Rojas; his daughter, Rosalba Rojas; his sons, Tomas Rojas Jr. and Austin Rojas; his daughter in laws; Sara Rojas and Marisol Rojas; his grandchildren, Blanca Guzman, Cecilia Guzman, Martin Guzman Jr., Gregorio Guzman, Sara Guzman, Tomas Rojas III, Samuel Rojas, and Iker Rojas; and his great-grandchildren, Ivy Rose Guzman, Lorenzo Gudino, and Martin Guzman III.

Tomás leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and treasured memories that will live on through the many lives he touched. His presence, guidance, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Saint Peter Claver Catholic Church in Tyler, Texas. Burial will follow at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home & Cemetery.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Mia Maya, who gained her angel wings on June 2, 2026, at just 8 years old.

Mia was the light of our lives, a beautiful little girl whose smile could brighten any room. She loved listening to music, watching movies, and spending time surrounded by the people who loved her most. Her laughter was contagious, and her sweet spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

To us, she was so much more than Mia. She was our gordita, our crooked-tooth girl, our stinky girl, and simply our girl. To her mom, she was her delicious girl, a special nickname that reflected the unique bond and endless love they shared. To her dad, she was his stinky booty girl, a nickname filled with affection, laughter, and countless cherished memories. These loving names carry a lifetime of precious moments that made Mia so special. She brought joy into every day and filled our hearts with a love that words can never fully describe.

Mia fought with incredible strength and courage until the very end. Surrounded by her family and wrapped in love, she showed us what true bravery looks like. While our hearts are broken by her loss, we find comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, free from pain, and watching over us from heaven.

She leaves behind a family who adored her beyond measure and who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Though she is no longer by our side, her love, laughter, and beautiful spirit will remain with us always.

Our sweet Mia Maya, we are so proud of how hard you fought. We will forever cherish every smile, every hug, every song, every movie night, and every precious moment we shared with you. Until we meet again, you will always be our Gordita, our crooked-tooth girl, our stinky girl, our mom’s Delicious girl, our dad’s Stinky Booty Girl, and forever our beautiful girl.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever remembered.
